MARINE CORPS AIR STATION IWAKUNI, Japan (November 22, 2022) —

Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni is pleased to announce our joint open-house, the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force and MCAS Iwakuni Friendship Day, scheduled for Saturday, April 15, 2023. This upcoming year marks the 44th iteration and 50 years since the first Friendship Day in 1973 and will combine both Fleet Air Wing 31 and MCAS Iwakuni in an exciting, fun-filled event, which will consist of both static displays and aerial performances.

As members of the greater Iwakuni community, it is our pleasure to open our gates, in concert with JMSDF, to the gracious people of our host nation in order to share our two cultures. Friendship Day promises to be an entertaining, culturally-enriching event for all involved.
